Tonbridge AC Winter parkrun Grand Prix 2016/17 - Launch
Below are the qualifying dates for the winter series.
The only significant change in the rules is that each athlete can only claim one PB 5 point bonus.
The format is the same, your 4 best race scores will count, you can run in as many as you want. A score is your position once the results have been sorted by age grade relative to other TAC runners in the event. If 17 TAC members run, then the highest age graded scorer will score 17 points, second 16 points and so on. All members taking part will score at least 1 point. First place will score a minimum of 10 points, even if less than 10 TAC members take part.
In the event of a tie at the end of the 10 events, the winners will have their 5th highest score added to their total (and 6th if required etc etc) and comparison made until a difference is revealed.
Please make sure that you are registered with http://www.parkrun.org.uk/ and that you indicate that you are a member of Tonbridge AC, as you will only be included if you have this next to your name in the results. If you need to add your TAC membership to your Park run details use the link in your weekly email to make the change.

TAC Winter Parkrun Grand Prix - update after 15th April - Final Result
Congratulations to Sophie Slack who is the winner of the TAC Winter 16-17 Parkrun age graded grand prix.
There were a massive 28 TAC runners at Tonbridge Parkrun today. With previous leader Andrew Mercer out injured, it was left to see if consistent scorer Huxley Crush could out score Lily Slack, Sophie Slack and Olukorede Fasina, all of whom had only 3 scores recorded up to this point.
There were some quality performances by TAC runners today but Lily Slack topped them all on age grading with 84.11%, to take the maximum 28 points available and 3rd place overall. However, Sophie did just enough with 26 points for a total of 73, to hold off Olukorede ,23 points today, who managed 71 overall. Despite boosting his score by 12 points, Huxley had to settle for 4th place and beating his Uncle today.
Luciana Anderson was the only other runner, apart from Andrew Mercer, in the top 12 to have registered only 3 scores, to finish only 18 points of the winner. A total of 71 TAC runners registered scores on at least one of the specified dates.
The Summer dates will be released shortly.

TAC Winter Parkrun Grand Prix - update after 1st April
Minimum number of 10 runners at Parkrun today frustrated Huxley Crush as he attempted to overhaul the injured Andrew Mercer. He needs 2 points to draw level with Andrew, but courtesy of his discarded scores being higher, that would be enough. However today despite being second on TAC age grading to Olukoreda Fasina (they both ran PB’s) by just 0.61% this gave him 9 points which is equal to his lowest score so far. This was also the case for Amber Crush and Aimee Holdstock who were unable to better their scores so far. So with the last race to go on the 15th April Huxley will need to mobilise his family and friends at TAC to ensure he gets rewarded with at least 11 points, unless Olukorede, Sophie and Lily Slack complete a 4th score.

TAC Winter Parkrun Grand Prix - update after 4th March
15 Parkrun registered Tonbridge AC athletes scored in the age graded Grand Prix today. Sophie Slack, defending champion, moved up to 3rd place and has two more races to put a 4th score in. Amber Crush and Angus Tosh both increased their overall scores while discarding previous scores. There were three 5 point bonus PB’s run by Ollie Croll, William McCarthy and Martin Hillier. With 2 races to go Andrew Mercer holds a narrow lead.

TAC Winter Parkrun Grand Prix - update after 18th February
A combination of half term, club training in Knole and pre nationals weekend resulted in a low number involved in the Age graded GP. However a familiar name, Lily Slack (75.43) topped the rankings on the day to claim 11 points and move up to 4th place, after 3 scores. Cain Bradley collected 8 points with his fastest run since July 2016 (69.98%). Andrew Mercer still tops the table but with Huxley Crush (2nd) and Angus Tosh (3rd) both turning out regularly in an attempt to add points to their existing totals.

TAC Winter Parkrun Grand Prix - update after 4th February
A relatively quiet day due to clash with Schools and BUCS allowed a max of 13 points that was taken by William McCarthy. Amber Crush ran another PB and is up to equal 4th. Angus Tosh improved on his previous total from 4 scores.

Winter 2016/17 parkrun Grand Prix - update after 14th January event
The fifth race of the Age Graded GP took place in the snow and ice. I was a bit suspicious to see that despite the tricky conditions 9 out of 15 TAC runners ran PB’s and further investigation reveals the course was 200m short today, so no PB bonus points have been awarded. Andrew Mercer has moved to the top of the leader board, although he was 2nd to Sophie Slack on Age Grade today. These two have dominated the AG cup for the last 4 times it has been awarded. Huxley Crush is second after recording his 4th score.

Winter 2016/17 parkrun Grand Prix - update after 1st January event
New Year’s day Parkrun at Tonbridge gave the opportunity for Angus Tosh to be the first to complete his 4th scoring race. As a result he is the latest GP leader, setting a target score of 42 in the process, for others and himself to try to improve on. The top scoring age grade was actually Ben Reynolds M50 who is second Claim TAC, however he is registered with Thames Hare and Hounds for the Park Run. Harry Brown and Jo Watts both ran PB’s

Winter 2016/17 parkrun Grand Prix - update after 3rd December event
With a relatively low TAC turn out top score available on the day was 14, which was snapped up by Sophy Slack, as she looks to claim the title for the 3rd time running. The top 3 are unchanged as Andrew Mercer and Anne Brenchley were busy winning medals at the Kent Vets XC championships. However Angus Tosh leapt up to 4th place and is the only athlete to have completed 3 races. Huxley Crush was also another big mover with a scoring PB bonus on the day. Eva Kolivoskova-Martin was making her postnatal return and will be one to be moving up the score board.
The next run to count will be New Year’s Day at Tonbridge, at 10am.

Winter 2016/17 parkrun Grand Prix - update 2, after 19th November event
Apologies for the late appearance of this table following Park Run on the 19th November. 3 Points cover the leading 3, with roughly 53 years between them. Olukorede Fasina (13yrs) on 38 points leads from Andrew Mercer (42 yrs) 37 points and Anne Brenchley (70yrs) 36 points. 3 PB’s for the Crush family. Next race 3rd December when the older runners will be at the Kent Vets

Winter 2016/17 parkrun Grand Prix - update 1, after 22nd October event
The Winter TAC Age Graded Parkrun Grand Prix got underway on Saturday and Sophie Slack (age 10) and Andrew Mercer (M40) continued to battle it out at the top, however Toby Emm U15, Olukorede Fasina and Anne Brenchley W70 all ran PB’s to add 5 points to their score and take early top 3 places (you can only have one PB bonus in the winter series). It is great to see competition between athletes aged 10 and 70+
