UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships, at Cofton park, Birmingham, Saturday 8th March
All race videos now loaded !
Tonbridge AC had a large number of runners competing for the county in these championships, with three of our athletes helping Kent to win the under 20 men's team title.
These championships have often included the trials for the under 20 and senior age groups, to help select teams for Great Britain, at the World Championships. However, since the World event is now only held every two years, there were no such trials on this occasion. This meant that Sky Sports TV will only show a highlights package on Saturday 15th March, rather than show all the events live on the day, as they have done in the past.
There were some notable performances, particularly from Corey De'Ath and Alasdair Kinloch, whilst Max Nicholls and Kathleen Faes also made the top ten of their events. Corey's fifth place may well have secured a Great Britain team race, if it had happened last year or next ! Alasdair, meanwhile took a bronze medal in the under 15s.
Kathleen Faes, won the British Cross Challenge series, for the under 13s, having run at Bristol and Liverpool, earlier in the season.
In summary (all Kent unless listed) -
Senior Men- 72nd Ben Cole, 193rd Tom Cox : Senior Women - 96th Lucy Reid : Under 20 Men - 5th Corey De'Ath, 9th Max Nicholls, 14th Chris Olley, 76th Alex Howard : Under 20 Women - 16th Nicole Taylor (Sussex), 47th Ruth Bourne (Surrey), 50th Alice Wood, 60th Saffron Salih, 91st Chloe Bird : Under 17 Men - 20th George Duggan, 29th Chris Cohen, 95th Robert Boylin: Under 17 Women - 124th Sian Driscoll: Under 15 Boys - 3rd Alasdair Kinloch, 21st Jamie Goodge, 163rd Oliver Dunn, 212th Dan Blades : Under 15 Girls - 52nd Genny Allan : Under 13 Boys - 31st Charlie Crick, 59th James Stoney : Under 13 Girls - 8th Kathleen Faes, 32nd Kelsi Cornish, 98th Ellen Crombie, 137th Katie Burgess, 147th Lizzie Miller, 153rd Vita de Munck
