TAC Distance Runners and Supporters
Relays now at Milton Keynes, rather than Crystal Palace !
Some of you will already be aware that the South of England Athletic Association (SEAA), yesterday morning, cancelled their road relay championships, that were due to be held at Crystal Palace. This was due to health and safety officers saying that the start area and stadium stands were a risk. I have no idea why it was decided this late.
Many of you will also be aware that this same organisation has had issues with events in the past, which have frustrated many clubs.
As a result of this, a few team managers started talking and remarkably a new venue was found at Milton Keynes. The SEAA turned down an invitation to get involved, but with the help of SOAR sponsorship the relays are being put on independently.
For many reasons, we really want to get behind the event, show support and come together as clubs. I am really hoping that nobody will withdraw, who initially signed up, but realise that the logistics for Tonbridge are more challenging.
So, I need to turn this around really quickly and have booked a club coach, should people need a lift.
Details are below this email. Note that both boys' and girls’ races are 3 per team now
The SEAA are refunding our entries, but I need to resubmit for this new event so I need the best possible response from all of you very very quickly !
Please do all that you can to support TAC and the event, whether athlete, coach, official, supporter or volunteer as, if this works, it could be a landmark event.
If you can race or signed up previously, please complete this google form, so that I can finalise entries and manage travel -

Many thanks in anticipation of your help, as I can’t recall a more challenging situation as a Team Manager !
