English National Cross Country Championships, at East Park, Sedgefied, Saturday 21st February 2026

We can run as many as we want in each race
Teams are 4 to score (Senior Men is 6).
Number of competitors varies depending on venue, but about 300 to 400 athletes in the younger age groups is normal with up to 2000 in the men’s race.

We now need to start gathering information and bookings with regard to the National Cross Country Championships trip in February.
For those of you unfamiliar with the trip, it has been the focal point for the club’s cross country season for the last 20 years and has been so important in terms of developing teams, club spirit and memories. There is a hotel stop over with an Awards Dinner on the Saturday night, plus entertainment.
We like to take the strongest teams possible and can race as many as we wish. The championships are for all levels of ability. Supporters are also very welcome.

The championships in 2026 are at Sedgefield, County Durham, so necessitate a Friday bus trip, with return on the Sunday, for most. The championships are on Saturday 21st February.
The hotel and two buses have been reserved and the club heavily subsidises the cost of the travel (buses are extremely expensive these days). However, I need as many replies as possible quite quickly, so I can ensure that we have enough hotel rooms and bus places.
